My Rescue Story

Princess Jenny Brown came to our rescue as a Owner Release. She was part of a rescue that start by a good Samaritan who saved her on the I-10 freeway in California! After being taken off the freeway her owners were found but they no longer wanted her. So the good samaritan reached out to a neigh of ours to take her in until our rescue could take her. Soon enough she was with the rescue learning how being saved means getting the gentle loving care that we could give her. After just a short while she was turning to show her true loving side. Now that she has had time to decompress all she wants is the attention just like a true Princess!

The Meaning of my name

Hooks Home Bound Rescue names each dog after a fallen tow truck driver, "Hook", if they do not come to us with a name.

"Princess Jenny Brown" did not come to us with a name so her rescue is in memory of "Jennifer W. Brown"

As midnight approached on August 19, 2014, Jennifer Brown was working to load a vehicle on her wrecker. Jennifer was on the side of the highway and had on her reflective vest and her truck beacons as she assisted her customer. Moments after moving into a position to load and exiting her truck, Jennifer was struck and killed by a passing tractor trailer whose driver failed to slow down or move over, hitting first the disabled vehicle and then Jennifer."
